Originally called the Convention Hall, the historic Boardwalk Hall has been an attraction in Atlantic City for over 80 years. It has magnificent vaulted ceilings rising 137 feet high it was the worlds largest clear span space at the time it was first built.
Some of the worlds best acts have featured at the Boardwalk Hall include Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, The Police, The Beatles, Luciano Pavarotti, the Rolling Stones and many more.
In 1998 the Boardwalk Hall was renovated and improved, with $90m being spent on the upgrade that were finally complete in 2001. The Hall has received several prestigious prize for design and architecture
The Boardwalk Hall now has capacity for almost 15,000 people and since re-opening it has once again attracted some of the world's best acts to grace it's stage and provide top quality entertainment for Atlantic City.
Acts that have appeared at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall over the last few years include Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Madonna and Barber Streisand.
In addition to the top groups, bands and singers, the Hall also attracts some of the USA's top sporting legends. For example, in 2008 the world WBC/WBO Middleweight Championship was held at the Hall (Kelly Pavlik vs Gary Lockett).
On top of that, the Hall also regularly host basketball, a circus, Ice Hockey, shows like Walking with Dinosaurs, Dancing on Ice and much more.
